Jordan Craig Jeans: Sizing, Fits, and Which Pair to Start With
Share
Jordan Craig moves more units in our stores than anything else we carry. Over the past year it's our top brand by order count, and it's not close. We stock more than 135 Jordan Craig pieces at any given time because if we don't, the rack is empty by the weekend.
But every week somebody comes in or calls with the same questions. What's the difference between Martin and Ross? Do they run big? Which one do I get first? So let's clear all of it up.
Why Jordan Craig hits
It's the value. Plain and simple.
You're getting real stacked denim with a proper taper, consistent sizing, and washes that actually look good in person — at a price where you can own three pairs instead of agonizing over one. Premium denim has its place and we carry that too, but Jordan Craig is the brand that lets somebody build an actual rotation.
The other thing people underrate: consistency. A 34 in one Jordan Craig pair fits like a 34 in the next one. That sounds basic until you've been burned by a brand where every wash fits differently.
How they run
True to size on the waist. Take your normal number. Don't size up for the stack — the length is already built in and sizing up just kills the fit through the thigh.
A few specifics worth knowing:
- Most of the denim has stretch in it, so it gives a little after the first few wears. If you're dead between two sizes, take the smaller one.
- The inseam runs long by design — that's where your stack comes from. Under 5'8" you'll get a heavy stack automatically. Over 6'2" you'll get a lighter one.
- The seat and thigh are cut fitted, not baggy. If you have a bigger build through the legs, the ripped and distressed pairs give more than the clean ones.
The fits, explained
Martin
The signature. This is the one people mean when they say "Jordan Craig stacked jeans." Fitted through the waist and thigh, hard taper from the knee down, extra length to stack at the ankle. Our Black Martin Clean Stacked and Vintage Martin Stacked are two of the top-selling individual products in the entire store.
Get this if: you want stacked jeans and you want them done right. This is the default answer.
Ross
A slightly more relaxed cut through the leg. Still tapered, still stacks, just less aggressive about it. Reads a little more everyday.
Get this if: Martin feels too tight through the thigh, or you want something you can wear to work without it being a whole statement.
Clean vs. distressed
Clean means no rips, minimal fading — a solid wash top to bottom. Distressed means rips, whiskering, destruction detail.
Clean is more versatile and ages better. Distressed is louder and does more of the work in a simple fit. If you're building from zero, get clean first.
Which pair to buy first
If you've never owned a pair, get a clean black Martin stacked. Here's the reasoning: black goes with everything in your closet, clean has no detail to clash with a graphic tee, and the Martin fit is the one the brand is actually known for. It's the pair that's hardest to get wrong.
Second pair, go for contrast — a lighter or vintage wash so you're not wearing the same fit twice. Third pair is where you can get into the distressed and the statement washes.

It's not just jeans
People sleep on the rest of the line. Jordan Craig makes some of the better basics we carry:
- Fleece shorts — one of our best sellers every single summer. Shop shorts.
- Sweat suits — matching sets that don't look cheap. Shop sweats.
- Leather pants — higher price point, but they move fast when we get them.
- Mechanic and utility shirts — the Re-Up Mechanic Shirt is a repeat seller.
Making them last
Cold wash, inside out, hang dry. Never the dryer. Heat shrinks the inseam, and the inseam is your stack — lose an inch and a half in the dryer and you've turned a medium stack into a light one permanently. Wash them sparingly; denim holds its shape and its color better with less washing.
